Last week was a banner one for me and the Livin La Vida Low-Carb message. It was an honor to be able to share with literally millions of people about healthy low-carb living through four amazing television appearances two local in the Greenville/Spartanburg, SC market and two national. Its ironic that all of these happened within a one-week stretch, but thats the way it happens sometimes I suppose.

The rumor swirling around is that Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez have both been offered judging positions on American Idol.

There may be announcement as to who the new judges are at the Foxs TCA Press Tour presentation on Monday.

There was no comment from Steven Tyler of Jennifer Lopezs reps.

Several sources are reporting that the Nats have traded closer Matt Capps to the Minnesota Twins in exchange for top catching prospect Wilson Ramos. The Twins were looking for more setup and closing situations to go along with their current closer Jon Rauch, former National. Rauch took over early for the Twins when the Twins lost closer Joe Nathan to Tommy John surgery in Spring Training.

As for the Nats, Capps was signed as a bridge to 2009 first round pick, 10th overall, Drew Storen. Storen was drafted to be closer and he was called up to Washington before June. He has been impressive. Storen has pitched in 29 games and 2-2 with 10 holds. He has an ERA of 2.64. In 30.2 innings, Storen has recorded 26 strikeouts.

As for Ramos, the Twins have been reluctant to give up the big time catching prospect. Ramos was drafted by the Twins in 2006. In 71 games at AAA this season, Ramos is hitting .241 with 5 home runs and 30 RBI. In 2009 at AA, Ramos hit .317 with 4 home runs. Baseball America had Ramos ranked as the 58th best prospect in baseball in 2010. Given the frequency of injuries to Jesus Flores and the fact Derek Norris is far off in Single A, the Nats were looking for a top catching prospect. Wilson Ramos fills that need immediately.

Nats also acquired P Joe Testa, a minor leaguer for the Twins. In 3 minor league season, Testa is 10-7 with 10 saves and a 3.33 ERA.

One of the big sticking points in the whole Roy Oswalt saga has been his $16m 2012 option. Oswalt had said for a while that, if he was to be traded, he wanted his new team to pick up that option. There aren’t a lot of teams who felt like committing that much money if they didn’t have to. However, while that may have been troublesome before, Ken Rosenthal reports that the Phillies and Oswalt have reached some sort of resolution:

Oswalt will be compensated for waiving no-trade in some other way.

At this point we can only guess how Oswalt will be compensated, but the Phillies will likely be happy to do anything other than guarantee him $16m in two years.

A 7-year-old girl Rhema Marvannes voice is become a hot sensation due to her amazing singign performance at The Season of Hope. She was born on September 15, 2002. No one have exact words to exaggerate her but the best way to describe her is that she has a beautiful heart and soul and has a voice like an angel is singing. She is sweet, kind, caring and most importantly pure in heart.

On Saturday, she performed at The Season of Hope benefit concert at the Richland County Fairgrounds Event Center. The concert is a fundraiser for Sidney Health Centers new cancer center project.

Teton Marvanne is her father and Wendi Marvanne is her mother. She loves her father and her dog Mojo. It was less than a year ago Rhema recorded her first song, Amazing Grace and quickly became an Internet singing sensation.

This is some footage of the Manslaughter committed in Summit NJ where 17 and 18 year old boys killed a middle-aged man sitting on a bench. The one boy puts a shirt over the mans face and then the other kid sucker punches the man 2 times in the face. He died 72 hours later. Its a random act of violence, theres not a lot of racial strife in this town, he said. Id like to see the parents that produced such monsters, he added, referring to the alleged attackers.

Khayri Williams-Clark, 18, and an unidentified 17-year-old, both of Summit, were arrested Wednesday on manslaughter charges. Williams-Clark pleaded not guilty to the charge Friday.

Now theyre charged with murder, along with Nigel Dumas, 19, of Morristown.

Dusk fell around Salvadoran immigrant Abelino Mazaniego as he sat on a bench on a promenade in an upscale New York suburb after finishing his restaurant shift. As night encroached, so did a group of teenagers, including one with a cell phone videocamera at the ready.

Then, authorities say, they beat him unconscious, with the camera rolling.

Days later, the 47-year-old father of four was dead but not before the video had been circulated among teenagers in Summit, N.J., authorities say. And not before a nurse in the emergency room where he was taken the night of July 17 was accused of pilfering several hundred dollars from his wallet.

The attacks on Mazaniegos body and dignity resulted in days of escalating court actions that culminated Tuesday in murder charges against three young men, ages 17, 18 and 19. A fourth teenager believed to have videotaped the attack hasnt been charged, but authorities werent divulging details on the teens involvement or potential culpability.

In Summit on Tuesday evening, a young girl sobbed, trembled, and clutched the waist of an older woman as they stood in a group of five people in front of a shrine of sunflowers, votive prayer candles, handwritten notes and a photo of Mazaniego that had been placed on the bench where he was attacked. Speaking quietly in Spanish, a woman with red-rimmed eyes said she was Mazaniegos wife of 29 years, and the rest were family members. She declined to give her name, saying she was too upset and scared to speak about the attack.

A federal judge has blocked one of the most controversial sections of a tough Arizona immigration law, granting a preliminary injunction Wednesday that prevents police from questioning people about their immigration status.

That provision required police to “make a reasonable attempt to determine the immigration status of a person stopped, detained or arrested” if the officer has a reasonable suspicion that the person is in the United States illegally.

U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton’s ruling, in response to a motion filed by the federal government, came with scant hours to go before the law goes into effect.

She also blocked provisions of the law making it a crime to fail to apply for or carry alien registration papers or “for an unauthorized alien to solicit, apply for, or perform work,” and a provision “authorizing the warrantless arrest of a person” if there is reason to believe that person might be subject to deportation.

“We believe the court ruled correctly when it prevented key provisions of SB1070 from taking effect. While we understand the frustration of Arizonans with the broken immigration system, a patchwork of state and local policies would seriously disrupt federal immigration enforcement and would ultimately be counterproductive,” the Department of Justice said in a statement. “States can and do play a role in cooperating with the federal government in its enforcement of the immigration laws, but they must do so within our constitutional framework.

“This administration takes its responsibility to secure our borders seriously and has dedicated unprecedented resources to that effort. We will continue to work toward smarter and more effective enforcement of our laws while pressing for a comprehensive approach that provides true security and strengthens accountability and responsibility in our immigration system at the national level.”

Seven lawsuits are seeking to block implementation of the law, signed by Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer in April. It is to go into effect Thursday.

The law also targets those who hire illegal immigrant laborers or knowingly transport them.

Opponents say the law will lead to racial profiling, which is illegal.

Supporters point out that the law prohibits racial profiling and people cannot be stopped and asked for proof of legal residence based solely on their looks.

Fox News correspondent Adam Housley got engaged to Tamera Mowry. The news of the couples engagement has been confirmed by a source close to them. Reportedly, the 38-year-old Adam Housley proposed Tamera, 32, in Italy a week ago.
